Friday Giveaway-Bring on the Frill
So, it finally got “cold” here in Southern California. As in the high is only in the 50s and 60s during the day! I know this sounds ridiculous to those of you in below-freezing temps, but trust me, 50° seems really cold when last week we were strutting around in shorts because it was 80°! So, I’m all about layers right now–and have I got some cute layers for you!
Peekaboo-Chic is an adorable online boutique that specializes in “lavish layering for women, ” especially in regard to “skirt and legwear accentuation.” I bet you didn’t know you could accentuate your skirt or legwear, but oh, you can! All of their creations are handcrafted from patterns made by fashion designers in Utah, and these ladies know what they’re doing. Their creations are so cute!
I’m loving all of their Boot Socks! I never seem to have the right boots or the right outfit to pull this look off, but after seeing how cute these socks are, I sure want to! They also make boho-chic hair accessories, beautiful slip dresses that are perfect for that dress that is too low at the top and too high in the bottom, as well as slip extenders. I was sent the Bring on the Frill Layering Skirt in Gray to review, and can I just say, I LOVE the versatility of this skirt!
First of all, it can be worn as the obvious, a skirt. The top panel can be worn flat to lengthen the skirt or folded down to shorten it and add extra coverage of your middle section. The fabric is polyester/spandex so it’s a little clingy on my bum when worn this way, but if I pair it with a pair of leggings or tights, it lessens the effect.
Next, it can be worn as a slip extender. I’ve already praised the utility of such slip extenders, so I won’t say much more than they are awesome. I especially love this skirt as a slip extender because the fabric is super soft and stretchy but also a little silky, so it flows nicely underneath my skirt instead of bunching up or feeling uncomfortable like some slips can feel.
Lastly, it can be worn as an adorable frilly tunic! Like I said, the material is really soft and silky, so I had to wear a shirt underneath and put a belt around my waist to help the top stay up and finish the look, but I love the final product! Super put together and right on-trend.
